Eva White

September 30, 1922 ~ April 12, 2015

Eva Ellen (Arterburn) White passed from this life to eternity with the Lord on April 12, 2015 at the age of 92years.

Eva was the daughter of Frank Bailey and Agnes (Greenman) Arterburn, Renfrow, Ok. She was born September 30, 1922.

Her brother Martin M. Arterburn recently deceased, from Owasso, Oklahoma.

Eva was married to Lloyd E. White, the love of her life. Lloyd passed away in Caldwell, Kansas on April 9, 1998.

Eva’s grandfather, Archibald "Archie" Phillip Arterburn, was originally from Kentucky and participated in the Cherokee Strip/Outlet land run in 1893. He established a claim in the Renfrow area. Eva grew up in this area with Renfrow being just a few miles East of the original homestead. In her early years she had many relatives close by. As a small child Eva was considered intelligent and a very good student. She loved to recite poetry for school functions. She was a lover of music and took some piano lessons, learning enough to play for church. She enjoyed teaching Bible classes at her church.

In 1977 and 1978 Lloyd and Eva achieved national notoriety when gasoline was discovered in many of the water wells of Renfrow This allowed Eva to become a radio and TV "star" with repeated interviews and a full magazine write up in the Dallas Times Hearld. During this time they obtained over 2000 gallons of gasoline out of the wells. Later they moved to Caldwell, living on Market Street.

Eva moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2006 to be close to her family. She lived in Tulsa for over 7 years then for the past 2 years as a resident of Cimarron Pointe Nursing Home in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Eva and Lloyd had two daughters, Frances Provinsal (married to Ray Provinsal) and Elizabeth Pruitt (married to Wayne Pruitt). She also is survived by several grand children and great grandchildren. Grandson's Mark Jacobson, Steven Pruitt, David Pruitt, and grandaughter Rebecca Jacobson. Great granddaughter, Leah Rush (married to Trent Rush), great grandson Mitchel Endicott. Great great grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel Rush.

Eva and Lloyd very much enjoyed living in Renfrow, Oklahoma and Caldwell, Kansas and visiting with many of their friends and neighbors on their front porch, Eva loved serving and helping people at the Schaeffer Mortuary.

Eva will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Lloyd, in the Caldwell, Kansas cemetery.

The family will have a private remembrance for Eva.

Memorials may be given in memory of Eva to the Caldwell Senior Center and left in care of the mortuary.

Eva was a great neighbor and friend. She and Lloyd were always telling me a story or sharing information. I know they are happy being back together. She was a very nice lady and I missed her when she moved.

Whenever I would sing at her church, she would send such a lovely note. She was a sweet person. Your and your family are in our prayers.

To the family of Eva:She was a person of great character!I remember one Sunday in church, her discussion of how she could look back over her life in her older years and realizing it not taking long for her to get there, but the brunt of her story was that everyone should enjoy as much of this life as they can, because it doesn't take long to live it.
