Arthur Eugene Townsend, 76, was born March 10, 1941 in Huntsville, Texas. He died November 9, 2017 peacefully at home with loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Townsend and Vinnie Mae (Caskey) Townsend; one brother, Charles Lloyd and one sister, Charlotte. Gene has one surviving sister, Jessie Huryta of Grand Island, Nebraska and one nephew, Steven Huryta.
Gene married Estelline Gruber April 27, 1959 in McCook Nebraska.
They were blessed with 6 children; Wanda Townsend Ingram of Belle Plaine, Kansas, Rick Townsend and wife Elaine of Derby, Kansas, David Townsend of Caldwell, Kansas, Ginger LeCounte and husband Kevin of Caldwell, Kansas, Teresa McClendon and husband Rex of Cunningham, Kansas, Scott Townsend of Caldwell, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren which he loved dearly.
All will miss this dear man whom we’ve been blessed with.
Memorials may be given in memory of Gene to the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the mortuary.
A memorial graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.
