Bethel Anne (Bobek) Brokar was born October 12, 1934 to Edward J. and Bessie (Kovarik) Bobek. Bethel died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Community Health Center of Wakita in Wakita, Oklahoma. She was 84 years old.
Bethel attended the Doster Country School until it closed and then attended the Caldwell Schools graduating from Caldwell High School with the Class of 1953.
Gene Brokar and Bethel were united in marriage by Rev. Sankey on May 13, 1953 in Caldwell, Kansas. Their son Duane was born September 3, 1954.
Bethel worked in the kitchen of the Sumner County Hospital District #1 until retiring in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bessie Bobek; husband, Gene Brokar; brother, Edward Bobek; sister-in-law Janice Braafhart and brother-in-law, Wayne Brokar.
She is survived by her son Duane Brokar; sister Dorothy Dvorak; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Gary) Gregory and Jeannie Bobek; nephews, Kyle (Susan) Dvorak, Bryon (Sheila) Bobek; niece Mary Bobek; numerous other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Czechoslovakian Cemetery, Caldwell.
Memorials may be given to the Sumner County Hospital District #1 and may be left in care of the mortuary.
