October 13, 1958 ~ March 30, 2013
Beverly Elaine (Brown) Yunker was called to be with her angels Saturday, March 30, 2013.
She was born in Wichita October 13, 1958 to Winton and Betty (Bogle) Brown.
Beverly was an unselfish loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. We will all miss her very much.
Beverly worked for many years in the maintenance department at the Sumner Regional Medical Center where she was always proving she was just as capable and hard working as one of the guys. She was always somebody you could count on if you needed help, especially when it came to keeping flowers alive when all seemed hopeless, or getting the family together for Sunday meals which always meant taking leftovers home.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Winton and Betty (Bogle) Brown.
She is survived by her children Brandon Yunker of Wellington KS, Amber (Levi) Burden of Wellington KS, and Garrett Yunker of Wichita KS; granddaughters Brooklyn and Callie Burden of Wellington KS; Brothers Bryan (Sandra) Brown of Rago KS, Brad (Sandy) Brown of Arkansas city KS; Sisters Brenda Beach of Topeka KS, Bonnie (Kelly) Gibson of McPherson; step-brother Stan (Julie) Reynolds of Neodesha.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Caldwell City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Sumner Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in Wellington, Kansas.
Visitation with family present will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

We had the honor and privilege of working with Beverly for almost 8 years. When we think of her, we think of words that would best describe her. Some words that come to mind are; caring, thoughtful, compassionate, hardworking, and generous. We don't know how long the list would be of nice words for Beverly, but we know it would be very, very long and we would pick them all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I remember your mother from the years of ball games and matches that she attended during your youth. She was always there cheering for each of you. She obviously loved her role as cheerleader for her children. I know that you will miss her greatly.
May God's loving arms surround you and give you comfort.

I really don’t know where to start as Bev was not only a classmate, a team-mate, but most importantly a friend. I enjoyed growing up with her and her competitive edge she always had. I will truly miss her even though our busy lives kept our contact with each other minimal. I have many great memories and will hold tight to them…she was a great person…we will all miss her. We were all very fortunate to have had her in our lives…heaven gained a tremendous asset.
My prayers are with all of you…
Take Care,
Kim Reilly (Sandell)

Having been a former coworker with Beverly it was a pleasure to have known her. Beverly added the woman’s touch to the maintenance department. Once us guys got through repairing, replacing or building something she would come behind us and make it look like nothing ever happened. Beverly was a hard worker and could swing a pipe wrench with the best. Beverly's smile and personal appearance will be missed by all.

Bev was a dear friend of mine in school and for a few years after. We both had children young in life. And then we lost contact. But I wanted to tell you this experience. Many years ago, Neal and Bev came over to our house and saw that my husband was in the garage. As soon as they came in Neal could see that my husband was in trouble. He had just cut into an electrical wire and was getting shocked. Neal being an electrician knew just what to do. He saved my husband life and for that I will truley be grateful. I am so sorry for all that you have been through. I hope you will know that many people thought very much of Beverly.

To Bev's Family,
Of course I knew Bev growing up but really got to know her working together at SRMC. There wasn't much she couldn't or wouldn't do at the hospital. My heart goes out to you as Bev will be missed by many.
