Charles Albert Cowell went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2025. He was born in Deer Creek, Oklahoma on October 23, 1925, he grew up on a farm outside of Caldwell.
At 29 years old, he married Lula Bell Kustanborter on November 28, 1954 and moved to Derby, Kansas. They had 2 children, Randy Allen Cowell and Pamela Jean Cowell. He worked at Beech Aircraft and retired after 35 years.
Charles loved to go fishing on weekends and loved planting a garden. Before retiring, he took classes to get his pilot’s license. He had a passion for flying.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Grace Leverne Cowell, his wife, Lula and great-granddaughter, Gracely Ann Wilson.
He is survived by his children, Randy (Mary) Cowell of Wichita, Kansas, Pamela (Jim) Friend of Caldwell, Kansas; grandchildren, Jeremy Cowell of Wichita, Kansas, Jimmy Jr. Friend of Caldwell, Christel (Eric) Gallant of Medford, Oklahoma, Victoria (Jon) Kiel of Clinton, Oklahoma and Kali (Tracy) Deacon of Wellington, Kansas; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to Schaeffer Mortuary to assist with funeral expenses and sent in care of the mortuary.
