Charles Cruthird

September 9, 1941 ~ March 8, 2020

Charles Thomas Cruthird passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2020. He was 78 years old.

Born in 1941 to Virgil and Betty Cruthird, Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. A self-made man who excelled in logistical problems that would stump others, Charles traveled as far afield as the United Kingdom with his late wife, Sylvia, and also enjoyed visiting with family in Hawaii, such as his late grandson Orin. He loved live music, especially Irish tunes that would keep his toes tapping, and the occasional glass of fine single-malt scotch.

Charles was a tireless friend, and huge supporter of both KU basketball and his beloved Green Bay Packers. He will be missed by his sister Ann, his daughter Debbie, his granddaughter Kinsey along with her husband Evan and their children Orin and Addison, his niece Stephanie, and his namesake nephew Charles.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Schaeffer Mortuary Chapel, Caldwell, Kansas.

Memorias can be sent in Charles' name to the St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 N. Main St., Chamberlin, SD, 57325.

You were a great classmate Charlie.

Dale Metzinger - 03/14/2020

You were in Algebra I at CHS with me which was taught by Mr Robert Moore. Thanks for the help, it was enough to keep me going toward my BSEE. May God bless you and your family. I wish I could have thanked you in person at one of the class reunions. Classmate Dale.
