Diane L. Cladinos

January 14, 1961 ~ September 2, 2012

Diane Lynn Cladinos, age 51, died peacefully on the morning of September 2, 2012 in the Caldwell, Kansas Hospital after a long battle with rejection as a result of a lung transplant in 2004. Diane was born in Liberal, Kansas to Roberta Pettijohn and Frank D. Day.

Diane was a gentle, caring and compassionate woman. She strongly lived by the philosophy to “always treat others as you would like to be treated”, regardless of their position in life. She taught her children, and everyone around her to be the person you are meant to be, always try your best, and never live with regrets. She was passionate about her family and all the persons and children in her community. Diane had strong love and devotion to her husband. In her eyes there was never a man so strong or loving to walk this earth.

Prior to getting sick, Diane valued her job at the local dollar store. She enjoyed visiting with all the people in town and getting to see the faces of all the children she adored so much.

Diane left behind a legacy, reminding us to always value the ones closest to your heart, and never take one second for granted. This is not only to serve in the mourning of her death, but to also celebrate her life.

Diane was preceded in death by her father, Frank D. Day. She is survived by her mother, Roberta Pettijohn of Wichita, Kansas; her husband Ted Cladinos of Caldwell, Kansas; her children Charlie Sawyer of Caldwell, Kansas, Tosha Sawyer and Wayne Wilson of Winfield, Kansas; Ashlie Cladinos and Jessica Sartin of Caldwell, Kansas, and Caleb Wilson of Caldwell, Kansas; two step-sons, Sam Cladinos of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Barry Cladinos of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her sister, Tonya Krenek of Wichita, Kansas; and her grandchildren, Christopher Sawyer, Caiden Wilson and Cailey Wilson all of Winfield, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Schaeffer Mortuary Chapel, Caldwell, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Kansas Humane Society or to the ASCPA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Friends may call at the mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an inprint in our memories and We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been touched by having shared their love.

Ashlie- “Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.” Think of all the good, silly, fun and wild times you had and I guarantee you'll find a smile. She is no longer suffering, and may she rest in the greatest peace. She's in wonderful hands. I love you Ash, amongst the rest your family.
