Donald Leroy “Donnie” Hodges, 82, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father January 4th, 2019. He was born the son of Lloyal and Marceleas (Thomas) Hodges, January 16, 1936 at Medford, Oklahoma.

He was a life long resident of Medford, Oklahoma, graduating from Medford High School with the class of 1954.

Donnie was a veteran of the Army Reserves. He was a Christian man and as a child regularly attended the Church of God in Caldwell, Kansas. He enjoyed going to youth group and attending church camps as a youth. He loved music. He listened to anything from good old Rock-n-Roll to Country and Gospel, especially Elvis. Donnie enjoyed making trips to Branson, Missouri and going to the music shows. He enjoyed watching football, especially the OU Sooners, his favorite team.

Donnie and Margaret Braley were married in 1972 and together had three children, Brad, Jennifer and Matthew. They were divorced after 16 years of marriage. Donnie never remarried.

Donnie worked at Koch in Medford for over 20 years when he took early retirement. He continued to work various jobs for several years. Those jobs included Grasshopper mowers of Medford and helping a few farmers during harvest.

He was a kind, caring, friendly, giving, loving man, and all-around good guy. Donnie was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Rest in Peace, Dad

Brenda Smith - 01/10/2019

My Dad and my late Mom, Linda Whitzel Hodges were great parents but after my Mom died, I had a falling out with him, though I still loved him. His other grandchildren, Cassidy and Randy, and even my Aunt June Frieouf, his sister also loved him. I wish I’d had a chance to make amends, but know we will meet again one day.

Love,

Your daughter Brenda and grandsons Cassidy and Randy

May you Rest in Peace

Jonathan Schmitz - 01/11/2019

He knew my Dad Monty Schmitz. Donnie went to school with my Dad in Medford. My Dad passed away in 2016 and now my Dad and Donnie are up in Heaven having a very good time talking about OU Sooners.
