Ervin Ohnemiller

Ervin R. Ohnemiller, also known as Erv, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in Mesa, Arizona.

He was born the son of Elvin and Kathleen Ohnemiller on April 22, 1941, in Wellington, Kansas. Ervin grew up in Milan, KS. where he received his high school diploma graduating with the 'Class of 1959'. Which was the last class to graduate from Milan High School. 6 boys and 1 girl were all that made up this class. Ervin then continued his education at the Kansas School of Barbering, graduating in February of 1960.


On Aug 6, 1960 Ervin married Sharon Fisk. This union brought two children, Ricky Glen in 1963 and Becky Lyn in 1966.

On July 7, 1984 Ervin married Doris Hunt and with that brought 2 step-daughters, Deana and Robin. They were able to spend 14 1/2 years together before Doris' passing in 1999.


He was a loving, thoughtful, courageous, and supportive man who lived a full and rich life. Ervin was a dedicated family man and a passionate golfer, playing until he could no longer hold a club. He was also a proud and active member of the Elks club in Wellington for many years. Another hobby he enjoyed was bowling. Ervin was a proficient barber by trade, having his own barber shop and also working alongside other barbers. Later he made a career as an inspector at BAE and then Diversified Products in Wellington.


Ervin is survived by his companion of 20+ years, Laura Sober; son, Rick Ohnemiller and his wife Trisha of Caldwell, Kansas; daughter, Becky Ohnemiller Foltz and her husband Jeff of Caldwell, Kansas; step-daughters: Deana of Topeka, Kansas ad Robin of Manhattan, Kansas; sisters: Louise Kirkwood and her husband Tom of Argonia, Kansas and Linda Davis of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren: Natalie Ohnemiller Moon, Jaden Ohnemiller (Cameron Krager), Tessa Ohnemiller (Daniel Owens), Hunter Stuewe (Miranda Callaway), Hanna Stuewe (Dakota Volavka); step-grandchildren: Trinity and Aja Wong, and Chelsea Foltz (Brandon Sisson); great-grandchildren: Lucas and Logan Moon, Brantley Stuewe, Westyn, Wyllow, and Wynlea Sisson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife, Doris Ohnemiller; and brother in-law, Dick Davis. Ervin's family was the center of his universe, and even in his absence, his love and influence still guide and inspire them.


A memorial service will be held in honor of Ervin at 10:30 am on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1030 Mission Road, Wellington, Kansas, 67152. The service will be a celebration of his life and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.


Interment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.


Memorial contributions can be given in his name and loving memory to the American Cancer Society, the Caldwell Golf Course, or the Wellington Church of Christ. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
