Long-time Caldwell resident Evelyn Fell, age 97, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Fell, of fifty years and many family members and friends.
Both Herman and Evelyn graduated from Caldwell High School and farmed in the community. Evelyn was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crafting. She especially enjoyed shopping with friends. Evelyn never met a stranger. She enjoyed visiting with people and had a way of making them feel at ease. Her loving spirit and contagious laughter will be missed.
She spent the last ten years in Tulsa suffering from a continuing illness. Evelyn leaves behind a daughter, Nancy Volavka, grandchildren Shona (Danny) Scott, Trae (Bria) Volavka, and four great grandchildren, Sheridan, Avery, Anikah, and Aaron, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Evelyn was surrounded by her family upon passing.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.

Nancy and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. I always so enjoyed her 20 page letters. She wrote them as if she were talking to me. I believe she was the last of her generation of the Schwertfeger family. We lost Daddy in '07 and Mama in July, 2018. HUGS
