Jason Hart

May 15, 1973 ~ July 30, 2012

Jason Hart was born on May 15, 1973 in Kingman, KS, the eldest son of Susan Winkle DeMayo. As the oldest of five boys, Jason took his responsibility as big brother very seriously. He taught his younger brothers many things; how to fish, to work on engines, how to work hard and have fun, but most importantly how to be a man. Jason graduated from Chaparral High School in Anthony, KS in 1991.

In 1994 Jason met the love of his life, Rita Subera, and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1995 in Anthony. To this union three sons and a daughter were born. Jason and Rita began their married life in Anthony, but through the years they also lived in Moore, Oklahoma, Coats, KS, Soldotna, AK, Littleton, CO, and most recently settled in Argonia, KS. Jason was the definition of a hard-working man, and he was a gifted carpenter and builder. He took much pride and enjoyment in his work, and it showed. He never completed a job without exceeding his customers' expectations, and being the kind of guy that he was, Jason developed deep and lasting friendships with many of them.

During the family's years in Alaska, Jason accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized at the College Heights Baptist Church in Soldotna, where he and his family were members.

Jason always loved helping people out, whether it was his friends, family or perfect strangers. He was a people-person, and could sit and talk for hours, as well as being a great listener. If anyone needed an ear, he was always there. Jason loved the outdoors, and spent many happy days with his family and friends camping and fishing, hunting, or just enjoying nature.

By far Jason's greatest passion in life was his family. He was fiercely proud of his beautiful wife and precious children. He enjoyed spending quality time with them, as well as all of his extended family, especially at big family get-togethers. Jason was the kind of guy that could always make you laugh, was always there for you, and always did his best at whatever he was doing. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and all those who were privileged to call him “friend”.

Jason was called home to the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the age of thirty-nine years. He is survived by his stepfather and mother, Doug and Susan DeMayo, wife Rita, sons Miles, Vaughn and Christian, daughter Kailey, brother David Hart and his wife Holly, brother Daniel Hart and his wife Angie, brothers Ian McGoye and Steven Spotts, father- and mother-in-law Johnny and Jeannie Subera, sister-in-law Connie Impson, and sixteen nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Caldwell.

Memorials may be given to the Jason Hart Memorial Fund in care of the Farmers and Merchants State Bank, P.O. Box 38, Argonia, Kansas, 67004. Contributions may be left at the Bank or the Mortuary.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Susan and Family

Words can not express the sadness I feel in my heart for you and your family. I know it has been along time since we have all been together but time is only a monitory word. Memories have no timeline. He was a great man and you should be very proud to call him your son. The one thing that gives me comfort is knowing that he is with Grandma and Grandpa. They will comfort and help him heal until you we see him again. He will be truly missed. Especially that larger than life smile. I love you Aunt Susie.

I love you Rita and I have a huge lump in my throat as I type this knowing the burden that weighs on you. But we are the children of such a big God that knows the pain you feel and can keep you even when your mind, body and soul are too weary to function.

We met Jason about 3 years ago when he agreed to do our remodel in our kitchen. He did such a good job for us that we called him to do more work last spring.

He took pride in the work he did and it shows.

He told us about his family and how much they all meant to him.

We could tell he was devoted to them and loved them so much. We thought of Jason as a friend of ours.

We called him again this spring to do more work for us but he told us he moved back to Kansas.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hart family.

May he rest in peace.

Rita, our hearts are heavy along with you - but we take strength in knowing where Jason is today - and how blessed our lives are from the moments we shared here with Jason and your family. Your 'Alaska Family' is here for you. We miss you very much and want nothing more than to be right there with you now. You are our dear friends, and always will be. Your loss is our loss, and your hurt is our hurt. Let the Lord's strength be your strength through this as we all lean on him through this time. We love you so much!
