June E. Williams

June Mortimer Wempen Williams was born May 2, 1939 in Everton, Missouri to William and Sarah (Bishop) Mortimer. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Donnie, Tommy and Jerry Mortimer and nephew, Douglas Edward Mortimer. She is survived by her husband, Elroy; children, Donnie Wempen, Roxy Gallardo and her husband Chris, Jolene Williams Marczynski and her husband Larry; three grandchildren, Kayli and Trey Marczynski and Jadyn Gallardo; brother, J. R. (Sharon) Mortimer; sister, Ginny (Rick) Schon and sister-in-law, Ginny Mortimer; nieces and nephews, Marty, Shelley, Tim, Susan, Paul, Jeff, Scott and Kurt and numerous extended family members.


June graduated from Caldwell High School in 1957 and attended American Business College in Wichita, Kansas. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone and Watkins Inc. in Wichita and was the director of the Sumner County Council on Aging and Futures Unlimited in Wellington which she retired from in 2002. She was also a member of the City Council of Milan, Kansas.


June was known for her bubbly personality. She never complained about what life handed her, she made the best of it. She loved her sewing and making her crafts. She loved people and never met a stranger. People loved her immediately and she loved with no strings attached, unconditional. Her grandchildren were her pride and Joy.


June died Friday, October 27, 2017 at Wichita, Kansas. She was 78 years old.


A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Argonia, Kansas.


Memorials may be given in memory of June to the Caldwell Alumni Association and may be mailed or left in care of Schaeffer Mortuary, 6 N. Main, Caldwell, Kansas 67022.

i can never say enough good things about June there were to many..I grew up babysitting for Donnie and Roxie and became June's extra daughter. She always told people I was her adopted daughter..I loved this woman and she will be missed greatly..
