Kelly Shoffner, 66, of Derby passed away on November 2, 2023.
Kelly was born July 11, 1957, in Wellington, Kansas and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1975. She married Rick Shoffner in 1975 and together they had three children: Eric, Alyson, and Adam.
Kelly worked for the Derby School District for nearly 30 years spending many of those as the Secretary at Pleasantview Elementary. She loved the Pleasantview community, always knowing the names of each student. She would go above and beyond to help, buying clothing for those in need, and providing transportation to a student who otherwise had no way of getting to school. She was truly a kind and caring person who gave so much more to her community than she took.
Kelly was an avid gardener. She enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and making her special cherry crisps, homemade noodles, and anything with gravy for her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, always having many toys for them at the home she shared with her husband, Jeff.
She is survived by her brother Steve, her sister Jan, her three children, her husband Jeff, and her four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Corbin Country Church, Corbin, Kansas. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, Kansas.
