Kenneth D. Kiser


March 6, 1942 ~ November 13, 2016


Kenneth Dale Kiser was born March 6, 1942 in Anthony, KS to Walter G. and Wilma M. (Foster) Kiser. He attended Harper High School and worked in highway maintenance for Kansas Department of Transportation in Anthony.


Kenny was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He would drive many miles and spend many days hunting and fishing. He was a man of few words but could tell hunting and fishing stories for hours.


Kenny passed away early Sunday morning, November 13, 2016 in the Anthony Community Care Center in Anthony, KS at the age of 74.


He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mildred Esparza and her husband Angel Esparza; brother Delmar Kiser and his wife Betty Lou Kiser; and daughter-in-law Sherri Kiser and nephew John Kiser.


Survivors include his son Kenneth D. Kiser Jr. (K.D.) of Harper, KS; daughter, Kristine Kiser of Abilene, KS; sisters Roberta Galloway of Gladstone, MO; Lila Smith of Wylie, TX; three grandchildren: Alyssa Lytle and her husband Brice of Goddard, KS, Jennifer Kiser of Pullman, WA and Aaron Barrett of Abilene, KS; two great-grandchildren Rhett and Everly Lytle. He is survived by special caretaker and friend, Holli Green and her husband Jeremy of Harper and “his li'l buddy” Brenton.


Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Harper Cemetery, Harper, KS. Visitation will be held 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday and 9 am to 8 pm Wednesday at the Schaeffer Mortuary in Caldwell, KS.


Memorials have been established in memory of Kenny with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Chaparral Trap Shooting Team and may be mailed to Schaeffer Mortuary, 6 N. Main, Caldwell, KS 67022.

Our sympathies go out to the family of Kenny Kiser. I really enjoyed his stories, even the long ones (which most were) and the times spent hunting & fishing. Kenny was a good friend who taught me a lot about work & hunting & fising. Thanks Kenny, you'll be missed.
