Levi Wykes

Levi Tatum Wykes of Wichita, Kansas passed away September 7th, 2021 at the age of 40.

Levi was born on June 22, 1981 the son of Bruce and Sannie Wykes. He was the middle child of 4. He was raised in the small town of Caldwell, Kansas.

Levi met Mellisa May in the year of 2001. In 2005 they married at a young age. Together they had three children, Tatum, Taylor and Tabitha. They stayed in the small town of Conway Springs through the years until he joined the service in 2004. He served in Mosul, Iraq. He served for four years, returning in 2008 on a medical discharge with PTSD and TBI.

Levi was a high school graduate of Caldwell in 1999 and went on to receive his welding certificate from Manhattan Area Technical school. He graduated in 2001. He always enjoyed being hands on with everything he did.

Levi loved life and just this summer in a conversation with his dad, when he was asked what kind of life do you want to live? Levi’s response was, “I’m living it!” Levi always enjoyed hunting, fishing and in the last few years loved riding his motorcycle. A son, brother, dad, uncle, best friend, boy friend, no matter the title you knew him by he would have given the shirt off of his back for you. Levi had a smile that could light up a room and a stubbornness that he came by naturally. He always showed up for a person in need and never let someone pick on the little guy.

Levi is survived by his ex-wife Mellisa Wykes and their three children Tatum, Taylor and Tabitha Wykes all of Conway Springs, KS; parents Bruce and Sannie Wykes of Basehor, KS, brother Greg Wykes of Centertown, MO, sister Melissa (Craig) Augustine of Basehor, KS, brother Matt (Rachel) Wykes of Cape Coral, FL; nieces and nephews Lexy, Adley, Abigail Augustine of Basehor, KS, Grace, Zeke, and Zoey Wykes of Cape Coral, FL; Dalton Garner and Garrett and Adyison Wykes of Centertown, MO, and so many more close friends and family.
