Margaret Elaine Hardy was born to Robert and Gwendolyn (Williams) Rice on December 23, 1947 in Caldwell, Kansas. She gained her Heavenly Wings on November 4, 2025 at her home at the age of 77 years.
Margaret made Noble her home since 1978, moving from Norman. She attended Caldwell High School in Caldwell, Kansas and graduated with the Class of 1965. She furthered her education at Wichita State University graduating with a Bachelors Degree and then attended The University of Oklahoma to receive her degree in mathmatics. Margaret taught math at Noble Public Schools since 1979 and recently retiring in 2020. On June 3, 1976 she married the love of her life Jim Hardy in Wichita Falls, TX. They were married for 49 wonderful years. Margaret loved to read a good book, you would always find her with a book in hand, she enjoyed puzzles and crosswords, watching football and she was a big Elvis fan. Margaret’s favorite pastime was being with her children and grandchildren, she attended every event, game or activity she could.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and brother Scott Rice.
She is survived by her husband Jim of the home, (2) sons: Jonathan Dora of Noble and Josh Hardy of Noble, (2) daughters: Anjanette McKnight of Norman and Samantha Crawford and husband Tim of Noble, (2) brothers: Bill Rice of Caldwell, KS and Brent Rice and wife Susan of Caldwell, KS, (4) sisters: Jolene Roitman and husband Rick of Wellington, KS, Suzanne Yunker of Caldwell, KS, Barbara Knowles of Caldwell, KS and Leslie Rice of Caldwell, KS, (10) grandchildren: Aubry McKnight, Jaclyn McKnight, Bailey King, Jewel McKnight, Avery Crawford, Reagan Dora, Mason Crawford, Braxton Washburn, Brianne Washburn and Dalten Crawford, (1) great-grandchild: McCully King and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Noble High School Gymnasium, Noble, Oklahoma. Following services, cremation will take place with inurnment held at a later date.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Sugar Sisters, 20 S. Main, Caldwell, Kansas 67022.
Memorials may be made to the Corbin Softball Association and sent in care of Schaeffer Mortuary, 6 N. Main, Caldwell, Kansas 67022.
