Marie was a very special lady. I have many fond memories of her and Maurice. I especially remember the trip that Marie and I took to Colorado to visit her folks. I will always remember the time when they and we lost electricity and she had us down for turkey dinner since they had a gas cooking stove and we didn't. We had a wonderful time eating by candlelight and just visiting. Marie will be missed by all who knew her. My thoughts and prayers and with you.

Thank you Edna for your greetings and news from time to time. As most of you know I spent many summers with Grandma and Grandpa Cunningham and then Maurice and Marie. I too remember all the travel to square dances. I also enjoyed the trips to see her family in Colorado. My mom always made all of Marie's pie crusts. (Marie's were hard). Marie taught me a lot about knitting even though I never actually knitted anything. In turn I was able to help a number of people.

Marie and Maurice were our neighbors for alot of years.
When we lost our home by fire Marie was the first one to organize a shower for us. Maire made a knited sock for my foot when I broke my ankle. Alot of things like that are good memories. Wendell(Bud), Maurice and Marie all attended Braman Schools together, so we go back as friends before we were married. Maurice worked with Bud at John Deere. He also helped us remodel our farm house.
Marie was a very talented person and was willing to pass her talent to other persons. These are the things we need to remember about her.

I remember traveling to Caldwell to visit Marie and Maurice, and mother remembers them fondly, as well. Great family and good times. We wish all of you well. God bless. Violet
