Marilyn Misak


Marilyn Joyce Misak was born November 17, 1933 to Sibley and Alice (Hannaford) Bryson in St. Joseph, Missouri. She departed this earthly life on April 2, 2021 at the age of 87, in Wakita, Oklahoma.

Marilyn attended Caldwell High School and graduated with the class of 1951. While in high school, she met her future husband, Verl Misak. They married in Caldwell on February 1, 1953. They had one son Roger Misak. Marilyn was a school teacher and then later worked as a bank teller at the Caldwell State Bank where she retired from in 1998.

Marilyn was a member of Caldwell United Methodist Church and was a dedicated volunteer within the church. She was a proud member of the local P.E.O. Chapter. She enjoyed visiting with friends and could tell stories for hours. You could often find her playing the piano or organ and singing her favorite hymns. She always played at the request of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband Verl Misak, son Roger Misak and parents Sibley and Alice Bryson.

Marilyn is survived by her 3 grandchildren, Cody Misak and wife Kimber of Wakita, OK; Jennifer Pearman and husband Rusty of Medford, OK, Garrett Misak of Medford, OK; 5 great-grandchildren, Cooper and Kinzley Misak, Russ Pearman, Naomi and Martina Wilson; brother-in-law Eldon Misak and wife Nikki of Jacksonville, AR; sister-in-law Nancy Misak of Garland, TX; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Caldwell United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Caldwell United Methodist Church and sent in care of the mortuary.

Visitation will be held 8am - 5pm Monday and 8am – 8pm on Tuesday.
