Michael David Hollis

April 18th, 1970 ~ February 23, 2018

Michael David Hollis, born April 18th, 1970 in Caldwell Kansas, passed from this earth on February 23, 2018 in Ponca City, OK. He was the son of David Hollis and Sandria Richardson West, and step-son of Cindy Grace. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1988 and was known as an outstanding track star and ran cross country. Michael had a lot of help being raised in Caldwell with special ties to Clifford and Merry Murdock and Randy and Kathy Risley. He credits Clifford for encouraging him to attend College of the Ozarks in Missouri after he graduated from high school. He traveled to California and had the exciting job of driving cars through parades and being a model for the car distributors. He worked in various retail stores throughout his life. He spent the last two years of his life living with his brother, Chris Hollis and sister-in-law Rachel helping with the household and taking care of nephew Owen and niece Elise. They were very special to him as he took them on expeditions and cooked them amazing breakfasts. He loved to cook for the family and was very much in to health foods. He also loved to debate and talk of issues of the day and loved reading. As a young boy he attended the Presbyterian church with his grandmother and later with Kathy Risley. He loved helping to decorate the church for Christmas. In more recent years, he had begun re-connecting with his brothers, Tony and Chris Hollis and his sister, Gwen, and extended family. He loved family and teasing the kids. Michael had many heartaches in his life and many family and friends helped him through many difficult situations. He loved his family and all those who helped him in so many different ways. He will be very much missed by all. Preceding him in death were his father, David Hollis, his grandparents, Paul and Vivian Hollis and Bill and June Richardson, and cousin, Allen Subera. He is survived by brothers Tony Hollis and Sonja, Chris Hollis and Rachel, Gwen Hollis and Michael Martin, step-sisters, Goldie, Della and Kathryn. Step mom Cindy Grace. Aunts Cindy Hollis, Jenny and Tim Webster, Penny and Brian Willis, Justin and Juanita Hollis, Danny, Dennis and David Richardson, Rita Griffin, Rosie Lehman and Patty Herl. Many little nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. Services for Michael will be at the Corbin Methodist Church, Corbin, Ks. on March 10th at 11 am. Memorials to the family for funeral expenses. His ashes will be distributed in his special locations at a later time.
