Mona Scribner

Mona Marie Scribner, age 93, peacefully passed away on June 14th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at her home in Caldwell, KS.

Mona was born the daughter of Harry and Dessie Scott on March 11th, 1932 in Wellington KS. 

She married her husband, Duane Scribner, October 17th, 1968 in Miami, OK. Together they happily farmed, raced horses and owned Scrib’s Fertilizer and Chemical for 32 years. This year they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, raising goats and spending time with her loved ones. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duane Scribner, sisters Rita Schoup and Barbra Hybsha, and son-in-law Mick Eckermann.

She is survived by her sister, Joan Arterburn, step-daughters, Connie Eckermann and Vonya Schwertfeger and her husband Bill, and many beloved nieces, nephews and family members.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Caldwell City Cemetery with Pastor Mitch Andrea officiating.

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice and sent in care of the mortuary.

Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 Tuesday; visitation with family will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..
