December 25, 1944 ~ May 24, 2018
Nancy (Henry) Maxwell was born December 25, 1944 in Ada, Oklahoma to John and Faye (Reed) Henry.
Nancy passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Wellington Health and Rehab. She was 73 years old.
She married Leroy Maxwell in 1971 in Arkansas City, Kansas. With Leroy came four children; Linda, Steven, Debbie, and Sandy. Later they were raising two grandchildren, Richard Maxwell and Dustin Hiebert.
She worked outside the home as an assistant cook and dishwasher at several cafes in Caldwell.
Nancy liked bowling, embroidering, coloring the color art books, visiting with friends, going to the County Fair, outdoor cookouts at Reedys campsites, and she always ordered her Avon from Vlasta. She never learned to drive, so, anytime anyone said, " let’s go”, she was ready. She could be found with 2 other ladies a lot! June Korbel and Ilene Reedy. They liked to hit the dirt roads looking at all the perennial (weed) flowers. And of course, on the way out if there was a garage sale," Whoa Nelly!
She was so sweet and enjoyable to be around she always had a smile for everyone. Nancy attended the Church of God in Caldwell. Her friend Connie Crawford saw to it to pick her up for church and usually dine afterwards.
Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin brother Bobby, brother Johnny, step daughter Sandy, grandsons Richard Maxwell and Dustin Hiebert.
Nancy’s favorite advice for problems, " Leave it in God’s hands".
Memorials may be given in memory of Nancy to the Wellington Health and Rehab and left in care of the mortuary.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.
