Neal Edward Yunker, 56, passed peacefully, with his family by his side, at his home in Wellington KS Sunday, August 12, 2012 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Neal was born October 10, 1955 in Wellington, KS to Louis P. and Ethel “June” (Ulrey) Yunker.
He graduated South Haven, KS High School in 1973. After apprenticing as an electrician, he started his career at Boeing, later Spirit Aerosystems, in 1979 and worked there for 33 years. Whenever brother Neal wasn't with his family, or at work, he was outside enjoying life, usually on his Harley, always with a smile.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents Louis P. and Ethel “June” (Ulrey) Yunker.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Yunker of Hutchinson, KS; his sons, Brandon Yunker of Wellington, KS and Garrett Yunker of Wichita, KS; daughter, Amber (Yunker) Burden of Wellington, KS; granddaughters, Brooklyn Burden and Callie Burden; brothers, Steve Yunker of Blackwell, OK, Galen Yunker of Caldwell, KS, Charles Yunker of Derby, KS, Thane Yunker of Aetna, KS, and Thomas Yunker of Caldwell, KS; sisters, Rita (Yunker) Creed of Forestburg, TX, and Carol (Yunker) Smith of Tulsa, OK.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Cemetery, Medford, OK.
A memorial fund to help with family’s expenses has been set up at the Impact Bank in Wellington or Caldwell.

Rest in peace Neal. It was good to have known you throughout my life. Many years ago (around 35 as best I remember) our paths first crossed, then on and off through time we would meet up again. I remember you mostly as an energetic, vibrant, happy person who didn't let people get you down. I wish you had been blessed with many more years on this earth than what you received but, to me, you lived these in a way that said you enjoyed life and you chose to be happy. I hope your family can take comfort in the knowledge that you lived, loved, and laughed your way through the days you received. Our family prays for comfort to those you leave behind. I just found out about Neal's death....I actually texted him today not knowing and found out about an hour later that he had died. Neal was such a good friend to me...we became friends in 2003 and had so many good times together....I was with the Black Oak Striders and of course he wore yellow for the Yunkers and I always told him he needed to get a black shirt....he would always ask me to go riding with me when it was nice...i'm going to miss his phone calls and text and just talking him...RIP Neal....I still have the birthday gift you gave me and will always keep it....
