May 11, 1966 ~ October 25, 2015
Robert (Bob) Benke, a loving husband, dad, brother and friend, has passed away in a tragic death on Oct. 25th, 2015 in Alcoa, Tennessee at the age of 49. Bob was 1 of 4 children born to Sharon (Dempsey) Benke and Stephen Benke on May 11, 1966 in Blend, New Mexico.
Fifteen years ago Bob decided to move to Tennessee even though he always considered Caldwell his home. Eleven years ago he met Kim and 6 years ago they married.
As a child he thought living with 3 sisters, he wouldn't survive! But he knew Barb, Bren and Bonnie loved him and would protect him. Growing up he loved playing sports and proudly graduated with the Class of 1984.
If Robert wasn't home, you could always find him with the "Prewitt Boys", Jay Cole or on the "One Way" playing football! Whenever you saw him, he'd always have a smirky smile on his face, one of the many things his family will miss.
Later in his life, he had a beautiful daughter Jessica, with Sherry. Jessica gave him 2 beautiful granddaughters, Jett and Athena.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Stephen Benke and brother-in-law Art Guerra.
Survivors include his loving mom, Sharon Benke; sisters, Barb Albright (Ron), Bren Zitsch and Bonnie Guerra; daughter, Jessica Draper and granddaughters, Jett and Athena; his wife Kim Benke; Uncle, John Flint; Nieces, Crystal Mingle, Jennifer Conrady (Kelly), and Margarita Guerra (Cy), Nephews, Brandon Zitsch (Toni), Kai Zitsch, Christopher Mingle (Cerina), Weigand Guerra, Tommy Guerra, Art Jr. Guerra, and Dave Raborn (Ashley); many great nieces and nephews.
Bob will be missed by all that knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Robert Benke memorial fund In care of Impact Bank, to help with funeral expenses.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Schaeffer Mortuary Chapel, Caldwell, Kansas.

Missing a classmate
Mary Kolarik - 11/25/2015
I went to school with Bobby for 13 years and will always remember a mischeveous basketball player! Mom and Grandma both loved to watch him play, and I loved it when he came back to the bench to see how many assists he had! The best was that grin of his when he was able to toss the ball against an opposing player so it went out of bounds on them!
May his family and friends find peace during this difficult time and may Bobby find peace.
