February 5, 1942 ~ July 29, 2014
Ronald Lee Orr was born February 5, 1942 in Gardena, California to Leroy & Sarah Alice (Scott) Orr. He was the oldest of seven children. Ron graduated from Banning High School in Wilmington, California and then worked as a machine operator for a Plastics Molding company.
Following a lengthy battle with diabetes and terminal cancer, Ron passed away at his home in Caldwell, Kansas on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He is survived by his brother Richard Orr of Marietta, California; three sisters: Pam Huff of Irvington, Kentucky, Judy Pickhard of Eugene, Oregon and Joyce Carlile of Caldwell, Kansas as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his dad, mom, brother and a sister.
Following cremation, a private family service will be held.

So sorry to hear about Ron's passing. He was a sweet and kind man. Always asked how you were doing and loved to tell you jokes.

To the family:
You have truly lost a treasure. It was a long time before I got to know Ron, but when I did, I enjoyed every minute that I got to spend in his presence.
I am sure that everyone at Friendship Village will miss him. While he was well,, he took such good care of those that lived there and needed a little help.
My favorite remembrance of him is his shoveling a parking space for me two winters ago when we had the big snow storm. I parked where there was snow and he was pretty upset with me for a while, until I explained that there could be someone who needed that cleared path worse than I did. He forgave me!
My thoughts and prayers go out to each one of you now and in the days to come!
