Ruby Louise “Ditty” Simmons passed away on October 2, 2021 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS, at the age of 91. She was born on March 10, 1930 in Culpeper, Virginia to Lacy O’Dell Dodson and Ruby Lewis Brown Dodson.
She graduated from Culpeper High School in Culpeper, Virginia. She married Kenneth Simmons on October 14, 1950. Ruby enjoyed bowling and doing puzzle books. She worked at the A & W Restaurant.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lacy O. Dodson, Ruby Lewis Brown Dodson, her son, Lacy Simmons and daughter, Belinda Simmons. She is also preceded in death by Lacy O. Dodson Jr., Helen Dodson, Joseph E. Dodson, Bunkie Dodson, Gus Dodson, and Lowell Dodson.
Survivors include her grandsons Joey Simmons and Jacob Simmons, granddaughter, Kimberly Simmons, daughter-in-law, Susan Simmons, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Community Church in South Haven, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to Great Plains Diabetes and sent in care of the mortuary.
