We are so sad to lose our brother and uncle. Altho we are unable to be in Kansas at this time, you are with us in our hearts.
Russell was special to us. He spent leave days with us in California when he was the cutest, white uniformed sailor in the fleet. He usually brought a sailor friend along and they were all young and full of fun. One week-end he brought another friend that wasn't a sailor but a cute little 15yo girl (Nancy). We loved her right away too. You all know the rest of the story except maybe that the 5 little toe-headed Thompsons were adorable and looked over by the sweetest big brother ever, Curt.
We love and will miss you, Russell, but have wonderful memories of you and yours with us always. God bless you all.
