Jeannette “Sue” Schlottog, 70, of Caldwell, Kansas passed away on January 29, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas.

Sue was born on March 6, 1955 in Enid, Oklahoma to Eugene and Viola (Bartley) Schlottog. Sue was welcomed to the family by her sister, Barbara and brothers, Garry and Charles.

Sue grew up on the family farm outside Corbin. She attended her early years at the school in Corbin and upon its closing, she transferred to the Caldwell school system. Sue graduated from Caldwell High School with the class of 1973.

After graduation, Sue moved to Salina, Kansas where she began her career with Schwan’s Food Service. She retired from Schwan’s after 41 years of dedicated service. Sue was a beloved dog mom to Zoey, Katie, Missy, Callie, Gracy, Teddy, and Penny with her partner Dennis. She was an active member of the Salina Kennel Club leading obedience classes and organizing dog shows until she returned to Caldwell in 2019.

Sue always loved to return every summer to help her brother Charlie with harvest. She was always ready for a part run or whatever task needed to be done. Sue loved to sew and she always had a project going. Upon the news of a new addition to the family, she would make them a special baby quilt. Sue was the designated mint maker for all the family weddings and baby showers, and her brother-in-law Leon’s sous chef for all family holidays. Her homemade chicken and noodles were a highly requested item at Thanksgiving and Christmas by all her nieces and nephews, or any time they could get her to make them.

Sue is survived by her sister and brothers, her dog Penny, nephews Randy Jenista and Tighe (Megan) Schlottog, nieces Sandra Kelso, Cindy (Mark) Jenista, Lynn (Dick) Knowles, Christina (LeAnn) Schlottog, and Kamra (Matt) Brandi, and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her life partner Dennis Amyotte, parents Eugene and Viola Schlottog, grandparents Banks and Minnie Bartley and Henry and Barbara Schlottog, brother-in-law Leon Jenista, nephew-in-law JT Kelso, great niece Brittany Nispel, and great great niece Mattison Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Caldwell United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Corzine Cemetery, Corbin, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the Wellington Humane Society or to the Caldwell Senior Center and sent in care of the mortuary.
