Kent Tom Reed was born on February 1, 1955 in Caldwell, Kansas to Hugh and Betty (Stringer) Reed. On March 13, 2026 he crossed over after a long battle with PKD. He was 71 years young.
Tom worked for KDOT until his PKD forced him into retirement. He was known as a hard worker who loved cooking his lunch on the equipment. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and camping. Tom’s greatest joy was taking his dog, Abbie, for rides.
He will be greeted by his wife Pam of almost 40 years, parents, Hugh and Betty Reed, and siblings, Virginia Stamm, Ruth Mark, Bill Reed and Jim Reed.
He leaves behind four children, Allen Reed, Lesley Koehn, Mike Koehn and his wife Shelly, and Melinda Crittenden; three grandchildren he was very proud of, Chaz, Chase and Skyler Crittenden. He is also survived by his brother Larry Reed and his wife Debbie, as well as many other nieces, nephews and crazy stories of “Uncle Buck” that will live on.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Goodel Cemetery, Drury, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the Wellington Humane Society and sent in care of the mortuary.
